This policy applies to information collected online and offline, including through dollarenergy.org, hardshiptools.org, MyApp Connect (myappconnect.com), our customer contact center, email and text communications, events, paper forms, and other interactions with Dollar Energy Fund, as well as to information collected by partner organizations who perform intake functions on our behalf.

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when applying for assistance, making a donation, requesting information, registering for events, subscribing to communications, applying for employment, or otherwise interacting with Dollar Energy Fund. Depending on your relationship with us, this information may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, utility account information, household and income information, documents submitted to verify eligibility, donation or payment information, and other information necessary to provide our services or fulfill your request. The specific information collected for any individual will depend on how and why they use our services.

When you visit our websites or use our online services, we may also automatically collect certain technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and other website usage data. Dollar Energy Fund does not send communications on behalf of other organizations.

We do not share donor information with other organizations for fundraising or solicitation purposes. We share information with participating utility companies, trusted service providers, technology vendors, payment processors, and other organizations when necessary to administer our programs, process applications or donations, provide requested services, comply with legal requirements, protect the security of our systems, or fulfill contractual obligations. These organizations are required to safeguard the confidentiality of the information they receive and use it only for authorized purposes.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

MyApp Connect

Information submitted through MyApp Connect is used to evaluate eligibility for assistance programs, process applications, communicate regarding application status, and administer participating utility assistance programs. Supporting documents uploaded through MyApp Connect, including utility bills, proof of income, identification, and other eligibility documentation, are used solely for program administration and verification purposes.

Data Security

Dollar Energy Fund maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel who require it to perform their job responsibilities. While we take reasonable measures to protect the information entrusted to us, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Choices

You may request to review or update the personal information we maintain about you, ask questions regarding our privacy practices, or opt out of receiving future fundraising or marketing communications. You may also unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those communications. Please note that we may continue to send communications necessary to administer applications, donations, accounts, or other services you have requested.
