Opt-In Policy

Purpose of SMS Messaging

MyApp Connect uses SMS messaging solely for security-related and account notification purposes, including:

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and one-time passcodes
  • Important account notifications directly related to a user’s interaction with MyApp Connect and Dollar Energy Fund

MyApp Connect does not use SMS for marketing, promotional campaigns, or advertising. Message volume is event-driven and varies based on account activity.

How Users Provide Consent

SMS consent for MyApp Connect is obtained through a clear, explicit opt-in process during account creation and security-related workflows.

Consent is required before a phone number can be used for SMS delivery and is never bundled with unrelated terms or conditions.

Consent Collection Methods

  • Web-based forms during registration or security setup
  • Authenticated account settings when enabling SMS-based security
  • Verbal or customer-assisted consent (when applicable, logged internally)

All opt-in mechanisms require an affirmative user action, such as selecting a checkbox or explicitly enabling SMS notifications.

Unchecked-by-default opt-in controls are used where applicable

Consent Disclosure Language

At the time consent is collected, users are informed that:

  • They are agreeing to receive automated SMS messages
  • Messages relate to account security and notifications
  • Message & data rates may apply
  • Message frequency varies based on account activity
  • They can opt out at any time by replying STOP

This disclosure is presented clearly and in close proximity to the opt‑in control.

Opt‑Out Instructions

MyApp Connect supports standard carrier-required keywords:

  • STOP – immediately revokes SMS consent

Once a user opts out, no further SMS messages are sent unless the user explicitly re-enrolls through MyApp Connect.

Where Consent Is Displayed (Authenticated Pages)

Some consent flows occur behind login-protected pages and cannot be publicly linked.

To accommodate carrier review requirements, MyApp Connect maintains this public-facing consent transparency page that explains:

  • Where and how consent is collected
  • What users agree to receive
  • How opt-out works
  • How phone numbers are stored and protected

Public Consent Transparency Page

This page accurately represents the in-app consent experience and is intended to provide reviewers a clear understanding of MyApp Connect’s SMS practices.

Proof of Opt‑In (Screenshots)

When required, Dollar Energy Fund can provide screenshots of the authenticated consent experience.

Data Privacy & Phone Number Usage

Phone numbers collected for SMS messaging are:

  • Used only for MyApp Connect security and account notifications
  • Never sold or shared with third parties for marketing
  • Stored securely and handled in accordance with MyApp Connect’s Privacy Policy

SMS messaging via toll‑free numbers complies with carrier, TCPA, and CTIA requirements.
